Looking at famous buildings from around the world, the pupils are hooked into learning about architecture. A letter arrives from the original designer of the Parthenon / Acropolis and explains the process of Greek temple design.
Pupils are led through a notebook file of how to research, design and make their own temple and later write replies to Ictarus with their evaluations.
An outstanding lesson with images, the letter from the designer, links to good videos etc - all you need (except Greek non fiction books or photocopies of relevant pages from books about temples) to teach background knowledge, engage pupils and teach literacy skills .

Perfect for those of you who don't have time and hate laminating cards. I spent my time designing these so I can just walk in to cover classes at a moments notice so would be perfect for supply or cover teachers or TAs. The other weeks are also available.
Though this is a week really it took me over 2 weeks with Y2 as it is so rich. You can skip through if your pupils learn quickly. Each presentation has over 20 pages and I have included jpegs for you to see them.
You only need white boards and pens for these lessons.
Happy Sunday Fellow Teachers :)
Everything you need as an EMT for Grade 1, editable resources. I plan to upload all the other weeks too I have. Thanks for looking. This is just a sample I just have not had the time yet!
Romans and water so far. I will add up more as I have time. You can copy and paste onto your moodle or VLE or school homework books. They are all EASY ON THE MARKING AS A BONUS!
Everything you need to walk into a phase 4 phonics session week 3 (two syllabic words) and review of week 2 with tricky words. All activities only need white boards and white board pens. Part of my series of presentations for phase 4 which can be purchased as a pack or just weekly if you are already half way through. I am developing these resources as I go.
These are ideal for supply teachers or teachers who hate cutting and laminating. There are a nice balance of different activities each day/week and the principles of sound, word and sentence and then text is used to ensure progression. Pupils are both expected to read and write the sounds/words to ensure progression. Enjoy your Sunday.
Thanks - if you are happy with the time saved please leave me a lovely review:)
Week 4 covering all the work covered so far with plenty of opportunity to apply and use in writing sentences. You do not need any resources. I developed this as I was doing cover and being swapped groups and as soon as had all resources for one phase, ended up needing to make another. So.... all you need are the notebook or Promethian depending on your software, whiteboards and pens - you don't have to take resources not knowing what phase you will be covering as a supply or cover supervisor/leader covering classes.
You can buy all the weeks in a pack, saving you money too. I'm a teacher with 25 years experience including as SEN advisor and Academic Vice Principal, judged consistently outstanding. All this has almost exhausted me so I'm sharing my resources to save you all the time and effort... and to help me retire at some point before 67 :) Happy Sunday Fellow Teachers.
Save time and use these presentations for delivering phase 4. You only need white boards and pens - no laminating of cards. Ideal for supply teachers or cover lessons/TAs to just progress through. Each day has at least 20 pages and is over planned so you can whisk through or go slower depending on your own pupil needs. Lots of variety and needs no resources at all. Promethian and Notebook files.
I am an outstanding teacher (hate that phrase but that's to let you know I can actually teach :)) and have over 25 years experience teaching from Y2 to Y6. I also have a Master's degree in SEN and leadership experience as an Academic Vice Principal/my NPQH. Last year I was teaching in the UK in a challenging school and was judged as exemplary. Now I am teaching in Thailand so have developed these as I could not ship all my resources. Enjoy and have a happy Sunday.
There are other weeks and as I go through the scheme I will add more each week. I've just planned Week 2 from Phase 4.
